Recommended Activities in Punta Cana, Dom. Rep.

Taking a vacation to Punta Cana in a couple of weeks, and want to get a jump on planning for some cool activities. My wife is pregnant, so there will be no jet skiing or skydiving or anything like that, so we'll mostly be relaxing and eating, but I would like to do something for one or two days there other than laying around by the pool. Any suggestions from anyone who's been there? Anyone do anything that was definitely worth mentioning in the area?

Sorry you didn't get any suggestions before your trip Raymon. Now that you've been there, any suggestions for someone who might be going to Punta Cana?

Well, we didn't actually do anything outside of the resort. 3 major things affected this: 1. My wife is pregnant, so this limits what we can do, 2. Limited funds, and 3. Life outside the resort is not really pretty. The resorts kinda come out of nowhere, just past the cattle, and the man peeing on the side of the road. There's not much that is appealing outside of the resort. Now, we were on the Atlantic ocean side of the island, and some resorts are on the Carribean side, so I'm not sure which side you'll be on. The beach was nice, but nothing you couldn't see in Jersey, just fewer people. There were some water sports offered, but the excursions with the professional tour groups looked like the best bet. There were several options for snorkeling, swimming with wildlife, and zip lining across mountains. Also, there was speed boating, catamaran rides, and 4-wheeling. Only go with the professional tour groups. They're expensive, but pretty much the only ones you can trust. Overall, we had a good time...Cancun was better, but we enjoyed ourselves. Have a great time!
