There is a large Buddhist temple near Chang Kai-Shek's former residence. Be prepared to pay an entrance fee though. The most significant site is the super large Buddha statue. You can get to it if you're prepared to climb several flights of stairs.
Also, if you want to go into the terrace at the foot of the buddha, there's another fee for that.
