This is a good getaway from the hustle, bustle city life in the Bay Area. You can head up to Tiburon and go to a park called Paradise Beach Park. On your way there, you'll drive on Paradise Drive, which is a windy road, but also very scenic. The homes are all nestled in the woods, and are amazing. Life is much slower paced here. Slow enough to enjoy some time at the park and to do some crabbing. :)

Once you get to the park, you can park at the lot for a small fee. If you go on a summer weekend, you'll probably find some kid having his/her birthday party there. That was my experience.

I came equipped with a crab net and tied a salmon head to the center of the net (which I bought at a grocery store for like $1). There's a nice long pier giving you plenty of spots to drop your net. After leaving my net in the water for about 30 mins, I pulled it up and had caught myself about half a dozen crabs. No, I didn't take any home and cook them, but some were definitely large enough to do so. I had a fishing license that year, so it would've been legal.

I dropped the net about 3 or 4 more times in different spots and pulled up different crabs throughout the day. It was a beautiful day, and nice to be away from the city. As I was in a good mood, I released all the crabs (with all limbs attached) so they could eat salmon head on another day.
