When I first heard about it, the Tillamook Cheese Factory sounded like a cheesy tourist trap (no pun intended). There wasn't much else to do on our Oregon road trip, so we decided to stop by. I'm glad we did. It's very tourist friendly and a quick fun stop.

They have a viewing area where you can watch the workers packaging the cheese. They start off with a 40 pound block of cheese! From there, you can make your way to sample some of their cheese. You will probably end up buying some snacks or cheese from their shop, as they've got a good variety of food products. And you'll very likely end up buying and ice cream cone and hanging out to eat it. They've got a great selection of ice cream, and I assume they make it fresh.
